Albert B. Southwick the author of this book, attended Clark University and later worked for Worcester Telegram and Evening Gazette in 1952 as an editorial writer. He was chief editorial writer for the newspapers from 1968 to his retirement in 1986. In 1953 Albert and Shirley Southwick (1920-1998) built their house on Marshall Street in Worcester. For many years he specialized in the history of Worcester, Massachusetts. Albert B. Southwick has written eight books and two librettos.
